A tough day being a lifeguard at an outdoor pool in Vancouver . . .

Not quite the same story when it's pissing rain in October, but glorious on days like today.

The funny thing is.. that picture gives no substance to the fullness of the job that you do there...

"Sure it was hard, Grandma... I can tell, just by looking at this picture..."

I had a TA at university once, who, when I introduced myself and said I was a lifeguard, responded with: "Oh, that must be an easy job."

But, the job does have its perks :)

Yes, I see your points. Okay, I'm going to carry my camera around for a week, and then post a 'a day in the life of a head lifeguard' photo montage.

I think you should actually assign some of your creative fun co-workers to assemble that montage on your behalf... so they can snap pictures when you aren't thinking about what it is that you are doing :)

C'mon, I dare you...

Yes, but I fear a day of having staff wander around with my camera would result in it getting lost or wet, and there are the early parts of my day when there are no staff. Hmmm. What to do, what to do.

Invite them to use their own cameras/phones, and email you the pics? And for the early morn stuff, got any sups-in-training in the pipeline?

Or, if you wanted to bribe me with rice pudding, I'd come in one of the mornings when I can't sleep :)

Hey Katie, I just wanted to offer to be your personal photographer for the montage you mentioned. I mean, you do so much for me, I might as well offer to help you out with this............for $600.00/hr.

LOL

I actually just figured out how to use YouTube to post VIDEOS to our blogs.. so you could post action shots of hauling bodybutterballs out of the DE tank.. and do a lineup of all the things you haul out of the ODP every morning.. :)

X.

Only $600.00 per hour?! What a steal! You're on!

Pssst.. some anonymous morning cashier is posting on Kim Day's blog that she wants to get your blog addy again...

Suspicious? A framing attempt? I dunno...

Katie said...

Nope, she's a faithful blog reader who was crushed by the address switch, and HORRIFIED when I told her why. She swore on all things ebay and shopping that she wasn't the poster in question, and that she wouldn't read this blog from the cashbooth computer.

Heh, so a framing attempt :) Or just my overeager imagination running amuck.. Apologies, Bex.. should have known you'd stand behind anything you wanted to say, rather than be an anonymous chicken :)
